Micah 5:6
And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders. And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.
Micah 5:6 stands in Micah 4-5, which contain very definite prophecies concerning the birth of Jesus. It belongs to a chapter that names the coming Messiah's birthplace and shows his preexistence.
Together with Micah 4, the chapter shows that the great church-and-state system antagonistic to God begins with Babylon at the time the kingdom was taken away from Judah and Judah went into captivity to Babylon. That system continues through seven great dynasties until Christ comes. Egypt, Assyria, the Philistines, the Midianites, the Amalekites, and other persecutors of God's children do not belong to that seven-headed beast system.
