Micah 6:16
For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people. For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people.
Micah 6:16 is a rebuke to a people who had been given great light and exceptional opportunity, yet still failed to grasp how God was dealing with them and never came into right relation with Him. Their failure was not from lack of privilege but from lack of understanding and surrender despite all that had been granted to them.
The same rebuke charges them with disregarding divine reproofs and corrections, stubbornly resisting warnings, and rendering those reproofs powerless by selfish bigotry. Those who treat God's punishments lightly will meet His judgments when repentance comes too late.
The verse also declares God's mind against every unfair and unjust action. It condemns false dealing, robbery, and speculative business that extracts money from men and women, reduces them to poverty, brings suffering, and destroys souls.
Therefore no one claiming church membership can continue in such work but must renounce it entirely. The call is to stay guarded, to break all fellowship with that wrongdoing, and never to surrender the soul to commit an unfair act even if faithfulness costs life itself, for to do injustice to even one soul is to do it to Christ in the person of His saints.
