Micah 7:20

God will carry out what was sworn to the forefathers from the days of old, giving truth to Jacob and mercy to Abraham. That keeping of sworn covenant promises is the pledge of the verse, that what God bound Himself to the ancestors He will perform.
This fulfillment rests on who God is as the One who pardons sin, exercises compassion, and puts away iniquity. Forgiveness and covenant faithfulness belong to God Himself, not to human shepherds.
