Micah 7:6

For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.

Micah 7:6 portrays the complete unraveling of the closest natural ties, with son set against father, daughter rising against mother, and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law. It extends that rupture to the whole household, so that a person's foes are found among those of his own home, with children turning upon parents and kindred betraying one another. This domestic division is the visible fruit of selfishness allowed to rule, which displaces love and loyalty with suspicion and strife. Left unchecked, that selfish evil produces confusion and open hostility where affection and faithfulness should govern.
