Nahum 3:5
Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame. Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.
The Lord of hosts is against Nineveh, the violent, deceitful, bloody city condemned for oppression, conquest, lies, robbery, and violence. After its people repented, the threatened destruction was averted. They afterward returned to idolatry, their sins reached to heaven, and their destruction came. The judgment declared comes when divine patience ends and mercy no longer pleads for the guilty.
