Nehemiah 3:12
And next unto him repaired Shallum the son of Halohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters. And next unto him repaired Shallum the son of Halohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.
Shallum was the ruler of half the district of Jerusalem. He repaired the portion of the wall next to his fellow worker. His daughters labored together with him in that work of repair. Their joining in the task shows that women also took part in rebuilding the city's defenses.
