Ezer the son of Jeshua, the ruler of Mizpah, repaired another portion of the wall of Jerusalem, located opposite the ascent to the armoury at the turning of the wall. The rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem pictures a work of spiritual reform. In that reform parents and ministers are to have God in their homes. They are to build up the neglected places of Zion and to strengthen its gates and walls as a defense for the people.
