Nehemiah 3:21

After him repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah the son of Koz another piece, from the door of the house of Eliashib even to the end of the house of Eliashib.

Nehemiah came to Jerusalem bearing royal letters to the provincial governors and accompanied by a military escort under the authority of the Persian king. His arrival aroused jealous opposition from Sanballat the Horonite, Tobiah the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian. These adversaries watched his movements to thwart his plans and hinder the work.

Within that rebuilding effort Meremoth son of Urijah son of Koz repaired another piece of the wall. His assigned section extended from the doorway of the house of Eliashib even to the end of the house of Eliashib. This account of rebuilding Zion's walls and gates pictures the work needed to strengthen households and defend God's people.
