Numbers 10:29

And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the LORD said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the LORD hath spoken good concerning Israel.

Moses invited Hobab, his brother-in-law of the Kenites, to journey with Israel to the place God had promised to give them. Hobab joined Israel in the wilderness travels and gave valuable help through his knowledge of the country. The Kenites were friendly to Israel and were worshipers of God though not wholly free from idolatry. For that reason they were spared when judgment fell on the Amalekites among whom they lived.

The verse furnishes God's people with an invitation to join them on their journey, assuring newcomers that they will be done good. It expresses confidence that following the Lord's way brings good. That invitation is to be extended by both precept and example, through words and conduct that show sincere Christian faith. It is given in truthful speaking and acting without deception. Those who extend it work on the side of faith in thorough consecration and entire sanctification of soul, body, and spirit as honorable vessels and fellow workers with Christ. Extending it is a great opportunity and privilege.

Those who speak it walk in the light, keep conscience clear and soul clean, and resist temptation even from powerful influence. They depart from every sinful proposal and wrong practice, walk worthy of their calling, and have no fellowship with unfruitful works of darkness. Safety comes from doing exactly what Christ has directed. The invitation is to be spoken from the heart to the heedless and those out of the way, to those hearing and becoming interested in the truth, to those attending meetings when called to give themselves to the Lord, and to those beginning the Lord's service or becoming interested in the advent message. It urges them to decide to place themselves wholly on the Lord's side and to take courage to receive and live the truth by coming with God's people.

It promises that those who come will be done good and will share in whatever goodness the Lord shows His people. This is because the Lord has spoken good concerning Israel and fulfills His word. It shows confidence in God's promised good and willingness to share it with newcomers.
