Numbers 10:32
And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that what goodness the LORD shall do unto us, the same will we do unto thee. And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that what goodness the LORD shall do unto us, the same will we do unto thee.
In its setting the verse is Moses' promise to Hobab the Kenite, his brother-in-law, who accompanied Israel through the wilderness travels and gave valuable help through his knowledge of the country. The Kenites remained friendly to Israel and were worshipers of God though not wholly free from idolatry. Though living among the Amalekites they were spared when destruction came on the Amalekites, showing that God remembers mercy while inflicting judgment.
The verse is a welcome inviting others to go and come with God's people, with the promise that those who join will share the same goodness the Lord does for His people. The promised goodness includes what has been spoken concerning Israel, and it involves God's people doing good in return to those who come with them. It is addressed to those stepping forward to give themselves to the Lord and newly committing themselves to Him. It is addressed to those becoming interested in the truth. It is addressed to those interested in the advent message.
It urges those invited to place themselves wholly on the Lord's side. It urges them to have courage to receive and live the truth. Those who accept respond with praise and thanksgiving to God for His goodness and mercy, and God is glorified in their praise.
