Numbers 2:31

All they that were numbered in the camp of Dan were an hundred thousand and fifty and seven thousand and six hundred. They shall go hindmost with their standards.

The number counted in the camp of Dan was a hundred thousand and fifty and seven thousand and six hundred.
They were to go hindmost with their standards, bringing up the rear of the host.
This was part of an ordered arrangement in which each tribe had its own appointed place and its own standard both in the camp and on the journey, and all marched and encamped in order.

Every tribe bore a standard with the sign of its father's house upon it and was commanded to pitch by its own standard.
When Israel rested the tabernacle was erected, and the tribes pitched their tents in order in just the position commanded, round about the tabernacle at a distance from it.
The tabernacle was constructed to be taken to pieces and borne with them on the way.
Whether to pitch and abide or to journey again was directed by the pillar of cloud resting low directly over the tabernacle or lifting high above it, and when they journeyed the ark of the covenant was borne before the people.

These directions for arranging the camp were given to establish order and harmony, with each person assigned work to carry out faithfully.
By that order God displayed His holiness and the purity He requires of those who serve Him.
Its harmony and the character of its work were to show the surrounding nations that the Lord governed Israel, and the way His people arrange their work today is still to represent Him rightly.
He is a God of order and not of confusion, and He has not changed from the former dispensation to the present but is as particular now as then.
Those upon whom the ends of the world are come are to learn lessons of order and organization from that perfect order instituted for the children of Israel in the days of Moses for their benefit.
Israel's murmuring, transgressions, rebellions, punishments, and carcasses strewn in the wilderness through unwillingness to submit to God's wise arrangements stand as faithful examples and admonition, warning against following their disobedience and falling like them.
