Numbers 27:8
And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a man die, and have no son, then ye shall cause his inheritance to pass unto his daughter. And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a man die, and have no son, then ye shall cause his inheritance to pass unto his daughter.
If a man died and had no son, his inheritance was to be caused to pass to his daughter. That provision guarded a woman's right to inherit her father's property. It stands as part of the laws concerning the inheritance of daughters that are taken up further in Numbers 36.
