Numbers 30:7

And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her in the day that he heard it: then her vows shall stand, and her bonds wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.

If a husband hears his wife's vow and remains silent on the day he hears it, her vows and the obligations she has placed on herself remain in force. Only limited circumstances allow such a vow to be made void within a marriage or a father's household. Vows are binding and must be faithfully kept. The verse calls each reader to examine himself as to whether he is faithfully keeping his own vows. When applied to whether a wife is guilty for cooking swine's flesh that her husband wants to eat, the principle establishes that she would not be counted guilty for doing so.
