Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our cattle, shall be there in the cities of Gilead:
The verse belongs to the agreement by which Gad and Reuben were permitted to settle east of the Jordan. It states that their wives, children, flocks, and all their cattle would remain in the cities of Gilead, where their families and possessions would be provided for in the towns there. While they stayed there, the men would go with Israel to fight for the inheritance of the other tribes, as a pledge not to leave their brethren to bear the conflict alone.
