Numbers 34:22

And the prince of the tribe of the children of Dan, Bukki the son of Jogli.

The verse identifies Bukki the son of Jogli as the prince appointed to represent the tribe of the children of Dan. He was one of those whom the Lord directed Moses to appoint as a commission to divide the land of Canaan, a body made up of Eleazar the priest and Joshua together with a prince from each tribe. That work of dividing the land occurred about five years after Israel crossed the Jordan, a reckoning drawn from Caleb's statements concerning his own age. It followed the overcoming in battle of the kings and places enumerated in Joshua 12.
