Numbers 7:31

His offering was one silver charger of the weight of an hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary; both of them full of fine flour mingled with oil for a meat offering:

In this verse sanctuary means God's habitation, the tabernacle Moses erected in the wilderness of Sinai. It is the building God claimed as His dwelling place where His service was performed. The phrase shekel of the sanctuary denotes the standard of weight in Israel by which the weight of the silver charger and bowl in the offering was measured.

The verse is one of fifty-six wilderness-period places where this building is called the Sanctuary, here in the phrase shekel of the sanctuary. That tabernacle was the heart and center of Israel's religious worship under the typical system. It was adapted to their wandering condition so it could be taken down and borne by the Levites on their journeys wherever the divine presence in the cloud by day and pillar of fire by night directed them to pitch their camp during the forty years in the wilderness.
