Numbers 8:4
And this work of the candlestick was of beaten gold, unto the shaft thereof, unto the flowers thereof, was beaten work: according unto the pattern which the LORD had shewed Moses, so he made the candlestick. And this work of the candlestick was of beaten gold, unto the shaft thereof, unto the flowers thereof, was beaten work: according unto the pattern which the LORD had shewed Moses, so he made the candlestick.
The work of the candlestick was beaten work of solid gold throughout, from its shaft to its flowers. It was made as one solid piece, with seven lamps, and weighed about a talent. The candlestick with its seven lamps belonged and was placed in the first apartment, the holy place, of the earthly tabernacle.
It was made exactly by God's express direction according to the pattern which the Lord showed Moses on Mount Sinai, in the mount. This certifies many times over that the tabernacle of witness, the worldly sanctuary built by Israel, was built after a divinely given pattern. That pattern proves the earthly sanctuary and its furnishings were the model and representation of the heavenly sanctuary itself, the true, and of things in the heavens.
The seven lamps of fire burning before the throne are the heavenly counterpart, the heavenly candlestick corresponding to the sanctuary candlestick. This proves the visionary scene is the first apartment of the heavenly sanctuary where Christ commenced His ministration as High Priest. It was one of the vessels of the sanctuary erected as the habitation of God that He might dwell among His people. Its light points to Jesus shedding light into people's hearts through His Spirit and Word, and the seven golden candlesticks represent God's people, among whom Christ walks.
