Obadiah 1:15

For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.

The day of the Lord named here is near as the time of divine judgment. Its nearness marks it as the appointed season when God reckons with the nations. That judgment falls upon all the heathen without exception.

What they have done shall be done back to them, measure for measure. Their own reward shall return upon their own head. In its end-time application Jacob in the prophecy stands for believers and Esau stands for unbelievers. The conflict between them is brought to view in the closing struggle with the image beast.
