Philippians 1:25

The verse gives voice to the settled confidence of a gospel worker to remain and keep on with all believers so that their faith may advance and bring joy. That abiding is not aimless presence but purposeful continuance for the furtherance of faith, carrying those taught forward rather than leaving them where they were found. It is to be read earnestly and taken into personal experience in order to gain boldness and determination for the work. So applied, it produces persevering service that does not draw back but stays with hearers until their faith is strengthened and made joyful.
