Philippians 3:3

For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

True circumcision is worship of Christ in spirit and truth, not worship in forms and ceremonies with hypocritical pretense. The old ritual service was passing away and possessed no virtue in itself, because Christ came as greater than the temple and as the one in whom all Jewish ceremony and typical service finds its fulfillment. True religion does not consist in forms or ceremonies, outward attractions or outward display, but in pure character and in faith that works by love and purifies the soul.

God's people put no confidence in human nature and claim no righteousness of their own; as they behold Christ they recognize the sinfulness of their nature and trust wholly in Christ's righteousness. Rejoicing in Christ brings real happiness even in this life, and those who follow Him live in the light of His presence and of His countenance. Life in Christ is a source of gratitude as well as happiness.

True worship is expressed in joy in Christ rather than in outward display or confidence in human effort, so believers should show cheerful joy in Christ without foolishness that makes their true relation to God and heavenly things evident, including at camp meeting. The lessons of the chapter must be carefully studied and practiced so that Christians may be spiritually healthy and the church healthy, shaping life by Christ rather than by human strength to guide faithful Christian work.
