Philippians 4:20

Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Paul composed this doxology as the closing of his letter to the believers at Philippi while he was held as a prisoner in Rome. That congregation was marked by its devoted attachment to him through his trials. Its members had more than once sent material aid to sustain him during his confinement. The ascription of glory to God and the Father therefore stands as the grateful conclusion of an epistle bound up with their faithful generosity.
