Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
In Proverbs 10:12, covering all sins means extending pitying forgiveness to those who have erred. It does not mean cloaking wrongdoing or excusing sin as if it did not matter. Love gives care freely, without demanding that people first rise to a required standard in order to deserve it. It therefore moves Christians to go personally to the erring and impart to them the same forgiving love that Christ has shown to themselves.
