Proverbs 11:20

They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.

The instruction about becoming wise through walking with the wise and being destroyed through companionship with fools belongs to Proverbs 13:20, while this verse sets the Lord's rejection of those froward in heart against His delight in those upright in their way. Those of a froward heart are those whose hearts are crooked, and to be an abomination to the Lord is to be abhorred by Him. Those upright in their way are those who live uprightly, and to be His delight is to be pleasing to Him, which shows that how a person lives matters to God.

The verse warns against envying an oppressor and against choosing any of his ways. Sin joins ill and error together and is an abomination to the Lord. It therefore prompts fear lest God has been grieved by treating a command lightly. It also prompts desire to discover any such error and to leave it.
