The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
The integrity of the upright guides them. It guides them through perplexities and difficulties and danger. Moral uprightness leads a person to look to God to know what duty is and then to carry it out fearlessly, whatever the cost may be. A holy purpose keeps the way open between the soul and God, and so helps a person to see truth. Honest integrity guides a person through life and holds him up as a staff guides and holds up a traveler, and keeping it is the way to succeed on the journey of life.
