This was shown when Daniel was preserved alive in the lions' den because of his innocence and his faith in God, while his wicked accusers suffered the very fate they had intended for him. Their destruction proved that the lions were fully able to attack and devour, and thereby proved that Daniel's rescue was God's miraculous deliverance. God sets the righteous free in answer to prayer from troubles such as arrest and imprisonment for presenting truth. In that deliverance the cost and the penalty fall upon the wicked persecutors in their stead. At the final convulsion and catastrophe of the sin-laden world, when people are divided by character, the righteous will be saved out of the disaster.
