Proverbs 12:14
A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man’s hands shall be rendered unto him. A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man’s hands shall be rendered unto him.
The second half of the verse lays down that a person's hands bring back to him their due result. Honest labor is therefore not lost, but is met with a corresponding return. Applied to working the land, this means those who till the soil may gain their living from it. Such steady work puts strength to better use than lingering in the city for chance jobs whose pay may then be spent on what ruins the spender.
