Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD.
Divers weights and divers measures are dishonest practices in business, including the use of false weights and false measures, and both alike are hateful to God as an abomination to Him. Following Him means laying aside all deceitful weights and tricks of trade and carrying His teachings into business life. Money is to be earned honestly and then put to use in circulation instead of being hoarded away.
For His sake this calls His people to unity and mutual love, shown in dealing with one another honestly and justly and truly, and gently and justly and righteously. That honest dealing takes the place of trying to reform others by pointing at their wrongs. It also takes the place of covering one's own wrong by pointing at another's wrong, and of building up self while hating others. He knows every person individually and desires each one to come into close connection with Him.
