Proverbs 20:26

A wise king scattereth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them.

Proverbs 20:26 belongs to the concluding portion of the book of Proverbs. It is one of the compacted sentiments of wisdom there, which are good and for the most part very simple and easily understood. Not all of these later proverbs were written directly by Solomon, since some were copied out by later kings from scattered writings of Solomon.

The verse stands within Proverbs 19–22, in a book that teaches practical wisdom and presents God as governing human destinies, rewarding good and punishing evil. Within that setting it shows that a wise ruler restrains and disperses the wicked and brings judgment upon them.
