Proverbs 21:27

The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?

The sacrifice, worship, and offerings of a wicked person are an abomination to God, hateful and detestable in His sight, and He does not accept them. That abomination is even greater when the offering is brought with a wicked mind, with wicked intent or evil purpose. This includes worship that puts other gods before Him.

Religious acts, forms, and sacrifices cannot make sin acceptable or make a person right with God while the heart and purpose remain wicked and the person persists in sin. Sin separates the sinner from God. God turns from the transgressor, and sinners remain undelivered, because they refuse the provisions of grace. This rejection of the sinner is not unwillingness on God's part to forgive.
