The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.
Careful preparation and wise strategy have their proper place in the day of battle, yet they cannot by themselves secure success, for safety and victory belong to the Lord. The horse may be made ready, but readiness alone does not determine the outcome apart from Him.
In advancing the truth this means plans should not be announced beforehand when making them known would enable opponents to obstruct the work. The work should instead be carried forward with wise methods that adapt to circumstances as they arise. Workers must place their trust in God rather than in their own ability to bring the work to its successful result.
