Proverbs 22:19

That thy trust may be in the LORD, I have made known to thee this day, even to thee.

The wise and true instruction made known is given so that the learner's trust may be in the Lord. Instruction in wisdom and truth, wise and divine instruction, is imparted for this end, that trust may be placed in and rest upon the Lord. This is the purpose of the earnest study through which seekers received what they recognized as divine instruction and were then led to communicate the truth they had learned.

Earnest study of Scripture and understanding of prophecy serve this purpose by strengthening confidence that God is leading His people. The words of truth made known also equip the learner to answer others who ask about them. Instruction and wisdom are thus made known both to establish personal trust in the Lord and to prepare the one taught to give an answer to the inquirer.
