Proverbs 25:12

As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.

Like an earring of gold and an ornament of fine gold, a wise reprover upon an obedient ear is precious, beautiful, and beneficial.
The obedient ear receives correction with humility, patience, and a teachable willingness to learn, listening patiently and generously.

Warnings and correction received in this way instruct, strengthen, bless, refine, and ennoble the hearer.
When reproof is wisely given and rightly received, communication fulfills its good purpose.
When the hearer so receives it, the reprover fulfills a duty and the correction benefits the hearer.

An obedient ear receives divine instruction, allowing God's purposes to be fulfilled and His name to be glorified.
Refusing counsel closes the heart to divine instruction and its blessing.
Rejecting counsel and preferring praise for wrongdoing shows opposition to God and His instruction.
