Proverbs 25:16

Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it.

Finding honey does not license unrestricted eating but calls for taking only so much as is sufficient for need. Sufficiency is measured by what the body requires, and stopping at that measure keeps intake within safe bounds. Going beyond fills the system to excess until it rejects the surplus by vomiting. The same measure of sufficiency governs drink as well as food. In this way the instruction functions as a general principle of moderation in quantity.
