For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
Keeping God's commandments in the heart adds length of days and long life, and brings peace. Those who thus obey find that God Himself becomes their personal confidence. Because the Lord is their confidence, He keeps their foot from being taken. They walk in their way safely and do not stumble.
They lie down without fear, and their sleep is sweet. They are not afraid of sudden fear, nor of the desolation of the wicked when it comes.
