Proverbs 30:11

There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.

Proverbs 30 contains the words of Agur and is believed to be of later date. There is a generation of wicked people and children marked by dishonoring parents through cursing their father and not blessing their mother. This parental dishonor is one trait of the wicked, alongside self-righteousness, pride, and oppression of the poor.

Failing to bless one's mother is an evil mark of a generation, and honoring one's mother is a measure of goodness toward her. The verse warns of the importance of living out saving truth at home and educating children in it so they believe and obey it.
