Proverbs 30:14
There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men. There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.
Chapter 30 is composed of short, condensed sayings that require careful thought rather than hurried reading, and it may have been written by someone other than Solomon, although Solomon may have written it.
The verse describes a wicked generation.
Its teeth are as swords and its jaw teeth as knives, a power wielded like weapons.
With that power it preys on the poor and the needy, to devour them from off the earth and from among men.
