Proverbs 30:17
The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it. The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.
The child who mocks his father and despises or refuses to obey his mother will face a shameful, severe, terrible and fearful judgment. That judgment is pictured as the ravens of the valley picking out the eye and the young eagles eating it, as scavenging birds consuming the eye. The eye that mocks at a father is irreverence. Such contempt for parents is profound perversity. It stands connected with the law prescribing death for cursing a father or mother. It teaches children to honor and obey their parents and shows that contempt for parental discipline has grave consequences.
