Solomon Teaches a Young Man Wisdomby emmanuel_higgins

Proverbs 31:13

She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

The wise woman seeks out wool and flax and takes up useful handwork as a willing part of household life. Her skilled and willing labor gives everyday work dignity and binds work to service. That work means learning to make and mend clothing and to prepare wholesome food. Her example calls for training girls in practical domestic duties and in taking responsibility to do their work well.

Practical handwork with the hands, including making garments, is a necessary skill. Neglecting these duties can leave a wife and mother dependent on others and make for an unhappy family.
