Proverbs 4:21

Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

God's words are to be kept continually before the eyes and held fast in the midst of the heart as an abiding principle that guides a person's thoughts and life. This keeping requires a single eye to God's glory and a single persistent purpose that sets aside self and the preferences of others and questions of personal gain or loss. It refuses to expect another to do one's seeing, and seeks God's wisdom with great simplicity.

Cherishing the Word within keeps the feet from slipping and makes the path of the just shine more and more unto the perfect day, in contrast to the darkness in which the wicked stumble. It guards the heart with all diligence as the source of the issues of life, and puts away the froward mouth and perverse lips. It fixes the eyes straight forward and establishes all one's ways.

Attention to and keeping God's instruction in the heart brings life to those who find it and health to all the flesh, supporting both physical and spiritual life. Applied to health reform, this shows that God's guidance and laws of nature serve to preserve life, promote health, and help prevent and cure sickness.

Keeping Bible truth before the eyes and in the midst of the heart has elevating and restoring power. Strictly heeded Bible principles are medicine for soul and body. The revelation of God's goodness and mercy renews health and life and does more than all else to uplift humanity.
