Proverbs 6:25

Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.

Proverbs 6:25 belongs to instruction and reproof that urges the hearer to heed and to choose wisdom. It is part of the instruction the boy refused to heed. Its chapter is set forth as a call to heed instruction.

It forbids lusting in the heart after the beauty of an adulterous woman. It forbids being taken and enticed by her seductive glance with the eyelids and being drawn by her eyes. Such inward lust is already a violation and breach of the commandment against adultery. Choosing wisdom's path is life, while rejecting the spiritual laws of life leads to spiritual disease and death.
