Proverbs 8:8

All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.

The speaker is heavenly Wisdom itself speaking to the human family with wonderful instruction. All that Wisdom utters is fully righteous, with nothing twisted, corrupt, or perverse in it, and this is what marks true wisdom. In these words the Lord is earnestly seeking to instruct every soul who is willing to be taught. He seeks to set in order the many things that need to be set in order, and to guide with wisdom all who pray for wisdom.

To understand this wisdom requires true faith, for true faith takes in the whole person and lifts the soul out of an imperfect, undeveloped state. The same instruction teaches the principle given through Paul and Isaiah of refusing to walk in the way of this people. It calls for refusing conformity to the world, for sanctifying the Lord of hosts, and for holding to the law and to the testimony as the test of light.

These words were placed by the Lord Jesus in the mouth of His appointed instructor for the benefit of those living in this age. They are for a time when a decided testimony is to be borne regarding the binding claims of the law of God. They point to durable riches and righteousness as a better choice than the sinful pleasures and treasures of Egypt, as was seen when Moses chose to bind his life to God's purpose rather than seek worldly greatness.
