Psalms 10:11

He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.

Psalm 10:11 exposes the inward reasoning of those represented by the rich man, a class as plentiful now as in the days of Noah. It means they do not retain God in their knowledge but regard Him as One far distant and pay Him no attention. It means they reason inwardly that He does not observe them and has no knowledge of their schemes and inventions. This outlook shows itself in measuring themselves by themselves and comparing themselves among themselves, with each one striving to outdo the other. This outlook shows itself also in refusing to pray to God, because prayer runs contrary to their manner and customs.
