Psalms 101:6

Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

God keeps His eyes and attention upon the faithful people of the land so that they may dwell with Him and serve Him as His servants and close, right-hand helpers in carrying out His work. The faithful who may so dwell with Him and serve Him are those united to Christ and surrendered so that God's will is done in them. They are trustworthy, righteous, high-principled, God-fearing people of integrity who honor and exalt God in actions and deeds as well as in words, who do their duty and remain dependable under every trial and changing circumstance. They understand God's will, obey Him and walk in a perfect, blameless way with integrity, and they are fit to carry out His work because they are capable of receiving His orders and directions and executing them with exactitude so that their work bears the similitude of heaven. Their hearts are purified and refined by the Spirit of God into meekness and lowliness with fewer judgments upon others, they choose as counselors and helpers only those who are good, pure, faithful and righteous, they refuse to uphold or support unrighteousness or selfishness in themselves or in anyone else, they do not use power to oppress fellow men when they have power to build up or tear down but use it to build up, and they show favor to the humble as God treats them.

For those responsible for guarding the influences of the home, the verse is a vow to keep the eyes upon the faithful of the land and keep the faithful near so they may live together. That vow guides parents in guarding the influences surrounding their children. It means to receive into household life and service only those who walk in an upright, blameless and perfect way.

The verse gives straightforward, simple direction and instruction for God's people to work diligently and waste no time foolishly. The reason is that there is a heaven to win and eternal life to gain.
