Psalms 104:14
He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;
He causes grass to grow for cattle and herbs and plants to grow for the service of man, so that food is brought forth out of the earth. This supply of food from the earth is a gift of His sustaining care for living creatures and people. He continually directs nature, and the growth of herbs on the earth is the work of His hand, not merely the result of natural necessity. These provisions reveal His generosity, power and care and show Him to be a gracious benefactor, and His works display the same grace and bounty as His words.
His bounty is a model and example of generosity for how people should treat one another. The herbs He provides for human benefit may be used with faith and gratitude as remedies for illness as a way of cooperating with Him, and using these gifts does not deny faith.
