Psalms 104:15
And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man’s heart. And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man’s heart.
God brings forth provisions from the earth to supply human needs and sustain well-being, giving drink and food suited to body and spirit. He provides wine that gladdens the human heart, oil that makes the face shine, and bread that strengthens the heart. These gifts are the fruit of His works, brought out of the earth by His action. In them is revealed His care for human need and His wise care for His creatures.
The bread is the grain of the harvest, a wholesome provision of nature for human nourishment. As a gift of God it feeds people and strengthens the human heart.
