The trees of the LORD are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;
The trees of the Lord, including the cedars of Lebanon, are full of sap and thrive because he planted them and sustains them. They are part of his wise provision for the earth. They provide nesting places for the birds. The cedar is strong, enduringly green, and able to thrive in varied conditions. Its flourishing under God's care makes it a fitting picture of Israel's foretold prosperity and of the righteous in every age, in which even Jesus' lowliest disciple has greater standing before God than kings and princes.
