Psalms 106:44

Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:

Psalm 106:44 belongs to the history of Israel, specifically to the record of the wilderness experience. It describes Israel brought low and oppressed because of its own rebellion, yet God regarded its distress and heard its cry. That regard for their affliction was joined with remembering His covenant and acting according to His abundant loving-kindness.

In this response the verse reveals God's goodness, mercy, and love toward His people. All who claim to be God's children should read this psalm carefully together with Psalms 105 and 107 to learn the need to appreciate God's goodness, mercy, and love. As part of the wilderness record, it provides warnings and lessons for God's people in the last days.
