Psalms 107:19

Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.

The verse stands within the recorded history of Israel preserved in a psalm given to be studied for a fuller appreciation of God's goodness, mercy, and love. It describes the turn that occurs when sickness comes and human strength fails, when people remember God and feel their need of divine help and cry out to Him in their trouble. That cry is answered by His saving them out of their distresses.

The cry follows an affliction in which the sufferer loathes food and draws near to the gates of death. The verse shows that God never turns away from the soul that sincerely seeks Him for help, but remains a refuge in sickness as in health and brings salvation out of distress. Its deliverance comes as He sends His message to heal and to free from destruction.
