Sailors Cry Out in a Storm at Seaby emmanuel_higgins

Psalms 107:25

For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

At God's command the stormy wind rises and lifts up the waves of the sea, for Psalm 107:23-30 reveals His power over storms at sea. The verse shows His sovereign power and authority over sea and storm, and that same authority that raises the waves can also still the storm and restrain the angry waves. Winds and waves remain under His rule, and at His bidding angels may hold them back.

By His protecting care ships and passengers are sometimes spared from destruction and shipwreck. Though the storm tosses the vessel, Jesus on board can speak the word that steadies it. Trust in the Lord is the believer's safety through every gale and brings safely to harbor, and those so preserved should thank Him for His protection.
