Travelers Find Water in the Desert Sandby Heloise

Psalms 107:4

They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.

Psalm 107 records the history of the Israelites, and studying it gives a fuller appreciation of God's goodness, mercy, and love. The redeemed wander lost in solitary desert wilderness, finding no city or settled home to dwell in. In that condition they grow hungry and thirsty until their strength fails.

Their trouble drives them to cry to the Lord in their distress. He delivers them and guides them by a direct road to a settled dwelling place. This rescue calls for praise to the Lord for His loving-kindness, wonderful works, and enduring mercy, for He satisfies the longing heart and fills the hungry life with good.
